There was no way to know how many traded away their humanity to have wet-wired mil-spec electronics embedded in their bodies. It started with thought controlled prosthetics, after the double leg amputee Oscar Pistorius won the gold in the Olympics, the push was on to be better than human through augmentation. The military had a surplus of men wounded in war, who couldn’t afford their new bodies. They had already signed themselves over, bodies and souls, to the Mission; And now the Mission could continue.
All was the Mission, any Mission, as long as they could become righteous powerhouses of military might, they would do whatever deed was required; theirs was the will of the master.
